Carol Bolick
Carol started volunteering at Casting Bread after being on the board of directors. She says Hurricane Helene was a memorable time for her because of the influx of people that came who wanted to help. Carol served as a volunteer firefighter for 24 years as well as police communications for 30 years. She believes non-profits, such as Casting Bread, are important because, "everyone that comes in is like another family that has been helped and the more visible we are the more people are comfortable to come in and ask for help." her passions outside of work and volunteering include spending time with her 4 children and 11 grandchildren.
Louise Greer
Louise was inspired to volunteer and work at Casting Bread because she wants to give people a place where they can go for help. Her most memorable moment at Casting Bread was helping a client who was going through a tough time and being able to give her what she needed. "The smile on their face makes a difference, and you get to know a lot about clients," she said. Louise would like to share that volunteering is something you will never regret doing. Spending time with her children and grandchildren and making quilts are her favorite things to do outside of working.

Ralph Miller
Ralph started working at Casting Bread because of his wife, Diane, and the amount of time she was spending here. He believes that addressing food insecurity promotes the overall wellbeing of a community because it gives back to families and makes sure no one goes hungry. His favorite part about Casting Bread is being able to talk to the clients and give them what they need. Ralph loves the fact he can have 4 day weekends so he can spend his free time as a carpenter. He wants to encourage people to volunteer and donate their time because of all the people and families it helps.
Bernice decided to first get involved at Casting Bread because it gave her something to look forward to everyday and it is a fulfilling job. Her most memorable experience at Casting Bread was seeing people she has not seen in a long time, such as old classmates and a lady she lived with growing up. Bernice is thankful and pleased to be able to help those in her community not only by donating food, but also by being someone clients can confide in and talk to. Outside of work, she enjoys working in the yard, gardening, and watching TV.
