Casting Bread exists to help anyone in need of food, compassion, and community. We will provide an emergency box of food to anyone, in any situation, regardless of residency or income. To receive food on a consistent basis, the recipient must be a resident of North Carolina and meet household income requirements.
Our Market is open for shopping every Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 am – 3:00 p.m. at 194 Aho Road in Blowing Rock.
Casting Bread Café exists to feed the body and soul of our community. ALL are welcome to join us for free lunch. Lunch is available every Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Every week, excepting only the occasional snow storm, our staff and volunteers fan out across the county picking up donations and purchasing (at deep discount) food to stock our shelves.
We are very grateful to our regular food donors, and suppliers including:
Food Lion Blowing Rock, Walmart, the BRWIA Food Hub, Second Harvest Food Bank and Publix among others! We also gratefully accept food & hygiene product donations from the community, at the pantry Tuesdays-Thursdays or at our Travis's Lunchbox drop-boxes located at:
the Blowing Rock Post Office, First Presbyterian Church in Boone and all Boone Drug locations. We love seeing the generosity of our neighbors and you can be sure that your donations will be on a family's table in short order!
